My Question or Issue

I have seen recently that Spotify login via the desktop app now forces users to login via a web browser link out of app. Other forum posts suggest this is a staged rollout as an intended feature.

I have a location that needs a strict whitelist to all internet access, where a lot of our users like to use Spotify. We really want to keep all people on this network on Spotify but can't seem to find a way to get the login window to whitelist.

Looking at other forum posts about Spotify whitelisting we see that Spotify uses dynamic addresses so domains can't be whitelisted. Previous suggestions are to allow all traffic from the Spotify App (which used to work) but now that the login is through a browser this is no longer viable.

Can someone give any suggestions on how to get this to work on the new desktop app?

The application opens a web browser and navigates to: https://accounts.spotify.com/login

Can you allow that url?

Hey @mukeanythin,

Thank you for reaching out here in the Community and apologies for the delayed response.

We are unable to provide a static list to whitelist, but you could try allowing *.spotify.com in your network.

Hope you find this useful. If anything else comes up, the Community will be here for you.
