Desktop client not saving when not quitted properly

Solved!

Desktop client not saving when not quitted properly

Hey Guys,

I'm using Spotify daily on my work laptop and it looks like the "current playing state" is saved upon quitting (when quitting the app) but the thing is when you turn off windows with spotify still running, it loses the current state and goes back to the last time you quitted properly which is kind of a pain.

Can you help with that?

Cheers,

Lilion

Sounds good to me.

Just head to Ideas section and post it as a new idea. : )

Hello @Lilion,

Welcome to Spotify Community.

The current state of the client is saved to a file upon exiting the program.

When you shutdown your computer with Spotify open, the client is getting killed ( force quit ) and no data is saved.

The only way to save your data on shutdown is to quit the client gracefully before the shutdown 🙂

Hey Dreadlord,

Thanks for the info, it confirms my request.

Would it be acceptable as an improvement to save state upon "new song" playing ?

Cheers,
