Desktop player crashes every time I try to play any song

I am running Win7 Pro with service pack 1 and just reinstalled Spotify, which according the the about screen, is version 0.9.12.10.g89b2a4fc. Prior to reinstalling Spotify, every time I would try to play any song the program would crash. I uninstalled then reinstalled the program and restarted my computer and still have the same problem. I believe there may have been some Windows updates over the weekend but I have no idea why that would cause the entire program to crash every time I try to play a track. This includes local files as well as online files. I have Spotify premium if that makes any difference. Please help!

Could you try unticking box "Enable Hardware Acceleration" options in Edit > Preferences then restart Spotify and try again?
