Entry Point Not Found error

Entry Point Not Found error

I've been trying to download spotify on my pc but I can't open it as I get the error message

"The procedure entry point SetThreadDescription could not be located in the dynamic link library
C:\users\M\appdatta\roaming\spotify\spotify.exe."

I've tried deleting and reinstalling but it isn't working. I get the same error.

Hi @anixxyy, thanks for writing.

The error message might indicate that your version of Spotify is trying to use a system feature that isn’t supported by your operating system. This typically happens if you're using an older version of Windows that doesn’t fully support modern APIs, like the `SetThreadDescription` function.

My first suggestion is that you verify your Windows version. The `SetThreadDescription` function requires Windows 10 (version 1607 or later).

If your Windows version is below 1607 or you're on an older OS like Windows 7 or 8, Spotify may not work correctly.

In this case, you should update to the latest version of Windows 10 or 11, if possible.

Let me know how it goes!
