Fix/Show "Hide" Button For Discover Weekly in Web View

When using open.spotify.com in browser, the "Hide" button for tracks played from Discover Weekly does not appear. It will only appear when the Spotify tab is reloaded, and only for the currently queued track. Changing to the next song in Discover Weekly will remove the "Hide" button, leaving only the option to "Add to Liked Songs." This makes it difficult and time consuming to tailor your Discover Weekly since you have to refresh each time you want to hide a song

I have the same issue in Spotify for Windows (64 bit) 1.2.52.442.g01893f92 where the hide/dislike button in Discover Weekly is not shown at all. Neither in the currently playing view

I am having the same issue, really frustrating. The hide song/MINUS button has completely disappeared from my discover weekly playlist.

Same issue. Also using browser. Seems fine in ios app. I don't know when it disappeared as I only use the browser at work

same issue! I would love to have the button back so my Discovery Weekly can tailor-made the song list weekly. 

same issue! The most used button of the windows app... The discovery weekly is degrading also the quality of the recomendations... so I need the button!!!

We can confirm that the Hide this song feature in Discover Weekly is no longer available on the desktop app and web player. You can still find it in the mobile app.

just adding my voice to the others, would like to have it back sooner rather than later

What does this even mean? Are desktop/Web users not valid customers anymore?
Please add it back. Why would you remove a functionally that makes the app worse?

Yeah that sounds like a good idea Spotify... Just add it back ASAP...

 

 

absolutely frustrating. I was using a lot the discover weekly on laptop when working, and listening to the lists several times every single week since years ago, but every week i had to remove/hide between 1 and 5 songs. Now if i can't do this, **bleep**, since some songs i don't like will appear again and again. I will probably stop using the discover weekly if they don't add this button again… i mean: spotify has a lot of useless options and shitty things, why do they remoe some tiny little thing taht was so useful!!??

Just want to jump in here and also ask Spotify to reinstate this feature. For once, I would love if a company who's services I pay for would stop removing useful features and maybe introduce something, or at the very least, stop ensh*tifiying and leave it alone.

Absolutely ridiculous decision to remove this feature.  Whoever came up with it should never be listened to again.

The removal of this feature is very annoying because my discover weekly usually has 3-4 songs on it that I can't stand. I usually listen to the playlist half a dozen times a week normally, but I don't think I can continue to do that without being able to ignore the annoying suggested songs.

Removing this feature makes Discovery Weekly unusable. Each week there is at least 1 song that is unlistenable. It needs to be put back.

Really? Why would anyone think this is an improvement?  Please return the HIDE button.

Can you elaborate on how the repeated removal of this functionality is a feature? There are multiple threads over the years where the dislike button has been disappearing. There is a feature request to ADD this to all playlists. But instead of implementing this, you remove it? For discover weekly, where your recommendation algorithm will make suggestions the users don’t like, it is a mandatory feature to remove these songs. Otherwise the list is 1-time use. As mentioned by others as well, I stopped listening to DW due to the inability to remove songs. 

I genuinely would be interested in your rationale on removing the button…

Wow!  I can't believe someone else is talking about exactly the problem
that just started for me this past Monday.  I have Spotify premium duo
and have never before had a problem skipping a song from Discover Weekly
on my laptop.  But it's not available anymore so I have to constantly
walk back to my computer to skip those songs.

It's fine when this happens in the car because my hands are an inch away
from the button I have to press to do the same thing.  But in the house
it's a pain and so far, since Monday the 6th, no one at Spotify has been
helpful about getting it resolved.

I hope you have success with getting this issue resolved.  If you need

This button you’ve “removed” is quite literally the only reason I pay for Spotify, if it’s not back by my next payment cycle, you’ll be losing a customer here
