My Question or Issue
Steps to reproduce:
1) Go to an album and select multiple songs by holding ctrl or shift and tapping on different songs in the album
2) Right click on one of the selected songs and click on "Save to your Liked Songs"
Expected Results
Newly liked songs should now have a green tick next to them, as if you've liked each song individually
Actual Results
Song doesn't have a green tick next to it.
Right clicking on those songs with multiple songs selected will give the menu option "Remove from your Liked Songs".
Right clicking on the newly liked songs with a single song selected will give the menu option "Save to your Liked Songs"
Adding a single song to the Liked Songs playlist (aka while not selecting multiple songs) will add the green tick as expected
Hey @MrDinnertime,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.
We've tested this on our end and after selecting multiple songs and adding them to your Saved songs, they should display the checkmark at its right side. So in this case, we'd first recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps in this article. This process will replace damaged files and ensure you're running the latest version of the app.
If the issue persists, would you mind checking in the Web Player to see if it makes any difference?
Lastly, include in your next response the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.
We'll be on the lookout.
Hi, Oscar.
Thanks for the reply and the welcome.
I already tried to reinstall Spotify using those steps before making the post, as directed in https://community.spotify.com/t5/Desktop-Windows/Troubleshooting-Windows/td-p/532796
I've just checked the web player and it has the exact same issue. Used firefox private browsing to make sure it's not an extension conflict and microsoft edge just in case. Same issue.
Interestingly enough, it looks like adding multiple songs to "Liked Songs" works for some albums and not others.
My spotify version is Spotify for Windows (64 bit) 1.2.29.605.g66a43ceb
We appreciate the cooperation, @MrDinnertime.
From our end, we tried with this album visible on the screenshots "Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" both in the app and web player, but couldn't reproduce the issue you're experiencing.
As in this case it's possible that there's an issue with your Spotify account, in order to be on the safe side, would it be possible to log into a friend's or a relative's account both in the app and web player on the device you're using to see if there'll be any difference? Try with the same albums and a few different ones.
Keep us posted 🙂
Hi, Ivelina.
I unfortunately don't live with anybody who can test this and have 1 PC to test the issue with -- can't select multiple items in Android and there's no green tick so that's not testable -- so I've asked my friend in Ohio to test the same issue. The issue isn't present for him either with the same album. I created a new account just to see if it works with a fresh slate and the issue is still present. The issue is also present when accessing my work machine via remote desktop (different city/different device/different network).
Interestingly enough, it works fine with the other albums for "Joseph and the amazing techicolor dreamcoat". Just not the 2005 remaster, which isn't in the search results.
Hi @MrDinnertime,
Thanks so much for your prompt reply and for the info you provided.
Could you send us the link or URI of that specific album Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (2005 remaster)?
Additionally, with what other album are you having the issue with? We'll try it out again from our side to check if we can reproduce the behavior.
We'll be on the lookout!
Hi, Susan.
You can find the 2005 remaster at https://open.spotify.com/album/6TnkozDY45CzERT174ATyG
Another album the issue is present in is The Final Experiment (Special Edition) https://open.spotify.com/album/1OlYgps2TZusKR5mCsllJ2
Thanks!
