How do I use the Explicit Content filter on the web player?

How do I use the Explicit Content filter on the web player?

I see directions for how to do so on the desktop, but when I go to settings there is no "Explicit Content" section available. This means I have no setting where I can affect the explicit content filter. I have tried using the search function within the settings and have gotten nowhere this way either.

Hi there,

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community, and welcome!

The playback of explicit content is set by your account, but unfortunately this setting can’t be accessed with the Web Player.

To change whether you allow or block content with explicit tags while using the web player, you’ll need to toggle the “Allow explicit content” setting on or off through the app (desktop or mobile) instead.

If you can't download the app on your device, feel free to use any other device available to you. Changing this setting should update the playback for explicit content on your account across all devices that you use, including when you’re listening from the web player.

Feel free to read more about how to update the Explicit content setting in this support article.

There’s also a Live Idea for having the same settings on the Web Player as on the app. If it’s something you’re interested in, I'd recommend adding your +VOTE to it. The more votes an idea gets, the likelier it is that Spotify will implement it, and you can read more about how feedback on ideas reaches Spotify here.

Feel free as well to Subscribe to the idea by clicking the three dots next to its title; that way, you can be sure to be informed of any relevant updates.

Let me know if you have any other questions, and have a good day!

Hey I'm actually having the same problem but it just started last night when I connected to my church wifi and saw that I couldn't play any explicit songs. I looked into the Spotify help thing in settings but I couldn't find any Explicit Content section either. I realize now that this does not help you at all so, sorry. I put an attachment of a screenshot of all the settings that I have on desktop. If you find a solution, please lmk.
