My Question or Issue
Problem with Desktop (Win10) and Android app.
How to dislike a song?
For example, a recommendation based on my playlist is playing for me now, there is only a "Like" button. And I want to dislike this "diamond" and never hear it again. But I can’t dislike neither the track, nor the album, nor the artist himself (went through all the sections, app only suggests to add to the collection, subscribe or share this "treasure"). The same thing in the mixes of the day, any Radio, recommendations. In some selections, the button "Hide this track" sometimes appears, but I still do not understand in which ones. At the very beginning, when I installed desktop and mobile app, there was a "Dislike" button in some section, but now I have rummaged through the whole interface and cannot find where it appears. It's very unusual after Google Play Music. There, the dislike did not save, of course, from the appearance of the song in the recommendations, but the playlist itself could be cleaned up pretty quickly by sorting the "slag" and removing it from the playlist.
Tell me, will I have to swear and just skip the tracks or is there any solution? Thanks.
Hey @loveletslive7,
Thanks for the post.
You can dislike songs in the following auto-generated playlists: Discover weekly, Release Radar, Song/ Artist/ Playlist Radio.
This will be taken into account when the algorithm recommends music to you in the future.
Let us know if you have more questions.
As a US customer, I would like to be able to dislike/block certain songs in a self-update recommendation playlist/chart on PC.
Hi @whiberig,
Thanks for the post.
Spotify constantly strives to improve the user experience with its features and the easiest way to achieve this is by regular app updates. That’s why we appreciate you taking the time to share your suggestions with the Community.
If you think other users might also like it, go ahead and create an idea on the relevant idea board. We always take new ideas and feedback into consideration to improve the app. Here you can read more on how ideas work.
We also suggest checking this help article for useful tips on how to submit an idea. As a heads-up, it's good to know that the higher the number of votes an idea gets, the more likely it is for the idea to be implemented.
Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any more questions.
I cannot still get it. There's no "dislike" or "hide" button. Some songs keep repeating, and I'm getting mad.
Hey folks,
Thanks for your posts.
@sovetov, it's not possible to Hide a song directly from the artist page or the Queue, as shown in the screenshots you sent. The only way to Hide a song in the desktop app, is in the Discover Weekly and Release Radar playlists.
@youdeletedme, it's not possible to hide an artist from the desktop app. However, this is possible in the mobile app by going to the artist profile, tapping on the three-dot menu, and selecting Don't play this.
To clarify, it's no longer possible to hide songs in Radios or Daily Mix playlists, only in Discover Weekly and Release Radar.
Hope this clears things up. If you have any questions, the Community is here for you.
Cheers.
Hey there @sovetov,
Thanks for your reply.
As @CarlosE mentioned above, there is the possibility to dislike artists and songs, however currently this could be done via the mobile app.
We understand your frustration with this experience as a user, so perhaps you can share your vote and valuable feedback in this existing idea about changing the way this feature currently works. You'll also find all the relevant info about our Idea Exchange and how the Community feedback gets implemented here if you'd like to know more about the topic.
Hope you find this useful. Keep us posted if you have any questions.
Just wanted to post a quick update and say that I moved back to YouTube Music.
I can dislike any song I want, in any playlist, and it will never play it again and will learn instantly.
If you want automatic music mixes, YouTube Music is milesssss ahead of Spotify.
We need a dislike button PLEASE!
It would reduce my stress and bring me great piece of mind if I could put Spotify on without the fear of having it play trash that has no business coming out of my speakers. "Hide" is not dislike. It's device and platform specific. It's also playlist-specific. Furthermore, it is intended for an entirely different use case than dislike - namely, playlist curation. Dislike, on the other hand, is global. Its meaning is clear, I don't like it, I never want to hear it again. I don't care how much who paid Spotify to play it. Trash is trash. We really NEED a dislike button.
fix**bleep** spotify. Our we will subscribe elsewhere
Cannot mark songs found in other issues as disliked. How is this still an issue after two and a half years?
We can do this from Mobile, the Desktop and Browser versions however lack this feature. The code and the database behind it clearly exist, since you can do it on Mobile. So why is the button for it not being provided?
It seems like Spotify is trying as hard as it can to ensure that users are unable to use the service except on mobile. Just like this whole "community" section is such hostile design practices, clearly intended to limit the number of support tickets.
seems not and seems like a dead thread but man am i frustrasted rn that spotify cant get it through my head that i dont like a popular song by an artist, it will always play it without fail after one of their other songs and i cant find anyway to make spotify know i dont like it besides skipping it every, single, damn, time. i tried playlists but i do want to listen to new music but anytime i use the stupid "enhance" it just throws that stupid song on there, also coulndn't find anywhere to actually voice my complaint so thats why im in a dead thread. i used to think spotify was good but the only thing better than yt music is the lyrics.
Same here.
Premium subscription. No "dislike" in Android app, not in Windows app, not in browser player.
It should have be a generally available function at every song, not just in a special collections.
Most hated function deficiency. Please solve it.

My Question or Issue
I've been struggling with this since I started using Spotify and now it's worse that Diddy and Drake dropped albums that Spotify likes a little too much. How do I dislike songs or full albums so Spotify can stop putting them in my suggested songs and daily mixes?
It's really frustrating to have to continuously stop what I'm doing to skip a song that I already know I don't like and it's not training the station to get any better.
