My Question or Issue

I'll often switch from my desktop to laptop.  If I start a session on my Desktop, when I got to my laptop, it will correctly show listening on (desktop).  However, after some time the current playing track will come out of sync, then occasionally update correctly.  What really burns me is when a good track comes on.  The following habits fail and I lose the track.

Hit the back button to replay the track from the beginning, then pause because I want to switch from headphones to loudspeakers.  Nope, the damn thing forgets where it's at and the track is lost.  Doesn't even show in recently played!

Listening for a long time, current playing track is wrong or completely blank.  Sometime restarting Spotify will fix it, sometimes not.

When Spotify start picking tracks either when a playlist ends or just on it's own, it will start killing it with the selection.  But the track history is often lost.  I might want to go back two, three tracks because I want to like or listen to something again.  But doing that either doesn't work, or defaults to my liked list.  Essentially the random song selection isn't a playlist, but it would be great if it behaved that way.

Currently fuming because I lost an amazing track and have no idea what it was or how to hear it again.

This isn't' exclusive to desktop, similar issues happen when using a phone or tablet to control Spotify on desktop or vise versa.
