My spotify desktop app is not working, I click on play and nothing happens.

My spotify desktop app is not working, I click on play and nothing happens.

It was working normally 2 days ago, but yesterday some songs and episodes didn't play and today nothing plays at all.

Hey there,

 

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

 

In this case, we recommend you to start off with a clean reinstall of the Spotify app on your device. By doing that, the app can be up-to-date, and you can make sure the cache is not leading to this inconvenience. You can see the steps for a clean reinstall here.

 

If the above doesn't do the trick, would you mind sending us the make/model and OS of your computer along with the Spotify version you're running there? You can double-check the installed Spotify version on the Control Panel of your computer. Just to confirm, is the web player working as it should? If not sure, it'd be awesome if you could check.

 

Lastly, and just to confirm, can you select your playlist for play or does the app stay on a black screen? It'd be awesome if you could send us more details about what's happening on your side.
