My Question or Issue

Play Queue: Navigation issues when adding multiple playlists and using Back button

So starting the App with a now Empty Play Queue updating the app, I start to play a playlist from my playlists, then i find another playlist and i add it to the queue.

So now i been listening for a little while gone out the room and when i come back i wanted to play the track i was playing previously before i went out the room. So i hit the back button 2 times:
1st hit: start of the current track (As expected)
2nd hit: Starts to play the first item in the playlist i first started playing , not the one which should have been the last track i played in the queue

The point of a back navigation in a player is to go back to the start of the current item, followed by the previously played item(s) before it until the playback history started this is not happening

As you can See in the Screenshot Attached starting a playlist and adding to the queue gives you the next in queue and a seperate next from playlist. Back Navigation basically ignores the added items to the queue and is navigating the bottom playlist initially started with.

Hey @IN2-MOIST,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

In this case, we can confirm this is expected behavior. When you add a playlist to the queue, it’s expected the songs will be removed once each one is played. It's different when you hit play within an album or playlist, since the app in those cases will play the content you select and it’ll be possible for you to go forward to re-listen to a song. Nevertheless, the “add queue” option works more like a list that is constantly removing the songs that finish playing.

We really appreciate the time you took to report this to us. We'd like you to know another user had a similar request, so they posted this idea about it on our Idea Boards.

We think this is a great idea too! That's why we'd suggest adding your vote and subscribing to it in the three-dot menu. That way you can stay up-to-date with any relevant news about it.

We appreciate your feedback. We know you’d like to take this as an opportunity for Spotify to become an incredible app.

We'll be here if anything else comes up. Once again, thanks for the feedback.
