My Question or Issue

I am using the desktop app for Windows and have periodically and repeatedly been unable to play any playlists (neither my own nor those created by Spotify or other users). Regular albums are playable but not playlists, they appear grayed out, the play button is gone and album art is missing. This will often occur at around 4-4:30pm EST, even if I was able to listen to playlists earlier in the day, but it does not happen every day. Sometimes it will work again the next day, sometimes not. And when this error crops up I am also often unable to load the home screen. This has been happening periodically for weeks and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times but the issue keeps reoccurring.

It looks to me like your cached data might be faulty. We can try removing it to see if that would make a difference but, before that - log out and back in twice in a row to trigger a manual sync of all your settings. 
 

Reinstalling is a good idea but this does not remove all Spotify-related files. In case the issue persists after going through the abovementioned steps, check if performing a complete clean reinstall of the app would make a difference.

 

Make sure your internet connection is stable and that you're not using any VPN services.
