In addition to the recent insanely awful design changes in both desktop and mobile experience, it seems that spotify started pushing podcasts in my region. But apparently, you can't even do this properly.
Exhibit A: podcasts now take the center place in my homepage. I'm not even getting started on how podcasts being a center of attention in a music streaming service make no sense but it was said a million times before me and the product management does not care. But, to **bleep** me off even more, apparently some of the podcasts selected for my region are russian. The same country that brought untold suffering on a neighbor for no reason and almost killed me personally on several occasions, and the country in which you are supposed to have seized any operations, according to your press releases. The podcasts in question seem to be benign but given how favorably spotify treats extreme political podcasts I would not be surprised to log in one day and see Z-patriot casts on my homepage calling for the genocide of my people for being zionist ultranazis or something.
Talking about political podcasts...
Exhibit B: if you open up spotify and don't touch it for some time (and I don't want to touch it as of late), the podcasts list suddenly changes to, apparently, a US version and is riddled with **bleep** like joe rogan and other spicy political talk for US region. Not only it shows that spotify has become a second facebook in terms of disinformation and propaganda for frustrated losers, but if you click "show all" it throws up an error, goes back and shows Exhibit A again. You can't even spread propaganda right.
Also, just look at the screenshots and appreciate how spotify app now looks like a puddle of vomit after a shawarma with magic mushrooms. I cannot fathom how in WORLD would anyone in the company would approve of this. It lacks symmetry, it's too flashy, every image and UI element has it's own size, lots and lots of useless information on the screen, illogical navigation and so on. I am pretty much sure that the person(s) designing this stuff should get screened for schizophrenia.
So I have two questions. First - how spotify decides which podcasts to show in my region and can I expect russian content to disappear from my feed? Second, and I think I already know the answer, how can I remove or at least move the episodes and podcasts sections away from my sight, since they are 100% useless to me and their content is straight up insulting.
