Possible UX Issue - Three Dots Icon on Top-left is not Responsive when Zoomed Out

Possible UX Issue - Three Dots Icon on Top-left is not Responsive when Zoomed Out

Hey there,

I don't know if it's solely happening on my end but I randomly realized an unexpected UI behaviour of the desktop app, and I wanted to let you guys know about it as I think it might be unintended.

The three dots icon on the top-left side of the app isn't responsive to zooming actions, hence making it impossible to click on the near icons when the application is zoomed out. You can also see the video attached.

Best.

Hey there @typeographist,

Thanks for reaching out! We moved your post from the Idea Exchange to the help boards where it better fits.

We were able to replicate this behavior as well. Would you mind sending over the make, model, OS version and the Spotify version currently running on your device?

Keep us posted.

Hey Novy,

I'm currently on Microsoft Windows 11 Pro, version 10.0.22631. And below is the current Spotify version:

  • Spotify for Windows (64 bit)
    1.2.49.439.gfae492c7

Hope it helps,

Best.

Hey @typeographist,

Thanks for the additional details - we appreciate it!

We've forwarded this to the right teams so that they can check as well. While we can't give you a specific timeframe for if and when this will be looked into further, we recommend keeping the app up-to-date in the meantime.

We'll keep you posted here if we have any news to share 🙂 Cheers!

Hey again @typeographist,

Our teams have investigated this and we have good news - on Windows 11, you should now be seeing the expected app behavior when clicking Ctrl and + (to zoom in) or Ctrl and - (to zoom out).

An upcoming release should also include a fix for controlling the zoom using the mouse wheel 🙂 Make sure to keep your app updated to get any new fixes and features when they're released.

Take care!
