Re: Daylist always shows the wrong title

Re: Daylist always shows the wrong title

Similar problem for me.  The list has the right title and plays the right track, but the list of songs is totally wrong.  The currently playing track isn't even listed.  Closing and relaunching doesn't help.  I don't understand how Spotify does 2 updates a week and still has so many basic bugs.

Hey there @speedracer350,

Thanks for reaching out. We moved your post to a separate thread since you're experiencing a different issue.

Have you already tried performing a clean reinstall of the app? This is often an overlooked step, but it can be helpful to get rid of any cache that might be causing trouble.

If that doesn't do the trick, can you confirm if the behavior is only present in the desktop app or is it also happening on other devices?

I'd also be helpful if you could send over a video or a screen recording where we can take a better look at what's going on. Be sure to exclude any personal info from it.

We'll be on the lookout for your reply.

It seems to be stuck on the previous Daylist.  When a new Daylist is available, you press play, and it only plays tracks from the last list.  They are not even in the list shown.  If you try to directly play a track in the new list shown, it freezes the app.  It has been like this every since I've discovered Daylist.  All my devices do this.  Win10, Win11 and iPhone.  It's not me, it's you.

Thanks for the response @speedracer350.

Would you mind giving Spotify a clean reinstall as suggested by @Novy in the previous reply in case this makes a difference for you?

If this is happening across devices, let us know if you've tested with a different internet connection and if the same thing happens in the Web Player as well.

Since you mentioned that this happens on different devices, if it's possible it'd be very helpful if you could ask a relative or a friend to log in to their account on the devices to check if the same behavior persists with their daylist.

Lastly, feel free to send us a video showing the behavior so we can take a look. You can either attach it to your next response via the Insert Video option in the post editor or upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us.

Appreciate the cooperation and hope to hear from you soon.

As I said, this is happening on many devices, so an reinstall won't help.  HOWEVER, I have another clue:  It only does it when I'm "connected" to another PC.  So, I have one PC or iPhone that "connects" to another PC that controls my sound system.  It works initially, but when it switches to the next update, that breaks Daylist.  When I just use my iPhone solely with earbuds, it does work fine.  Hope this helps.

Hey @speedracer350,

Thanks for keeping us in the loop here!

To make sure we cover all bases, as you mention this only happens when connected to a specific PC, could you check for updates to the device's operating system? It's also worth updating the Spotify app on that PC to see if you notice any difference.

Also, keep in mind that if the connected devices become out of sync, you might experience some playback issues. What you can try in this case is closing & restarting the Spotify app. Another option is to log out & log back in again twice in a row. As odd this may sound, completing these steps should resync the account info.

Fingers crossed this helps! Let us know if anything pops up.
