Songs pause suddenly, and the app doesn't let me resume them

Since a few days from now, my Spotify Desktop App keeps on pausing the songs suddenly, as if I were the one pausing it, and does not let me resume it, pausing every time I press play. I've seen discussions where people say it's because the app is opened in some other device, but it happens even if the app is solely opened on the desktop app on a single device. Closing the app and reopening it doesn't work, and it only lets me play the songs again when it "decides"...

Thanks for reaching out & sorry to see this has been happening 🙂
Try logging out everywhere by going through the steps from this support article.
If the issue persists, I would also check your 3rd party apps list - take note of which ones you have and remove them one by one. They can later be re-added if you wish to use them again.
