My Question or Issue

Spotify Connect on PC is not detecting devices or sync to other devices in same account at all. I saw that this problem occurs to many people on community and still hasn't been resolve for a single person. Can you guys do some check on it? Because it was working long time ago before this problem happened out of nowhere. It literally doesn't associate with anything syncing or anything outside, Example: Spotify on website and on iPhone listening history is the same because they are syncing but Spotify on desktop is different it only shown the songs that I played only on PC. Please look into it this is really a big problem that haven't been solve for ages now, Thank you.

People who having same problem and never got solve on community:

Hey @rpmur,

Thank you for keeping in contact.

We've tried to replicate this internally, but everything seems to be working fine on our end. However, there could be different factors that may be affecting the proper behavior of the app.

So if you haven't tried before, we'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps in this article and then, clearing any entries which contain Spotify from the host files on your computer. To do so, you can follow the instructions mentioned in this post.

We'd also recommend making sure you're not using a VPN or a restricted network that may affect the visibility of the available devices. Keep in mind that if you're using a work computer, the app may not work properly if your admin has some restrictions applied to your connection.

We can also confirm that the right folks are aware of the situation and waiting for more recent reports so they can continue investigating this behavior further.

Hope this helps. If anything else comes up, the Community will be here for you.

Yes I already did everything including clean reinstall and etc. but… I tried Spotify pc on another pc of mine and it’s working fine like it connects with browser and everything do you have any research about this? It seems like it not working for only some pc maybe there will be config or something to fix this?

Hey @Hu2s3y,

Thanks for the cooperation!

Since you mentioned this doesn't happen on the other PC you tried, it could be connected to your networking settings. It'd be great if you can follow these steps and let us know if you're still experiencing the same afterwards:

  1. Go to "Settings"
  2. Select "Network & internet" and then "Wi-Fi"
  3. Click on "[your network] properties" and change the network profile type from "Public" to "Private"

Can you also check if there are any pending system updates and install them?

Keep us posted.

nope sorry its still not working and everything is updated

Thanks for the reply @Hu2s3y.

Could you check if Spotify isn't blocked by your Firewall? You can try turning it off temporarily to see if this would cause your devices to show up. It's also worth flushing the DNS cache for your PC:

  1. Search for Windows' Command Prompt and run it as an administrator.
  2. Enter the following command: ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.
  3. Restart the Spotify app.

Something else that comes to mind is switching the network frequency to 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz. You can also try a different DNS by following the steps here.

Hope this helps. Cheers!

i did this its still not fixing it. i think its about something with the PC and Spotify but i already allowed Spotify firewall at control panel maybe its something somewhere on PC

Thanks for tryin @Hu2s3y!

Just to confirm, when you open the Connect menu of the desktop app on your PC, are you able to see the other devices where you're logged in (i.e. your phone or the Web Player)? Note that the app must be running and connected to the same network in order for the device to show up. Or is the issue just related to the Recently played history not syncing to your PC?

In case it's both, try restarting your PC in Safe mode with Networking to see if the issue persists there. This will help us determine if this is caused by another program or if it's network-related.

Cheers 🤘

yeah i tried those before its not working too

Hey @Hu2s3y,

Thanks for the cooperation so far!

Can you test this out with a different network if possible? It'd also be great if you can ask someone to log in their account on your PC to check if they're experiencing the same thing.

If the issue persists, please share the exact version of Spotify you're running along with a short screen recording, which captures the app's behavior on your end. If the file is too large to attach, you can upload it to Google Drive (make sure to allow general access to the file) or as an unlisted YouTube video.

Cheers.

My Question or Issue

All my Spotify Connect Speakers vanished from the Windows App. When I open the Speakerselection, it looks like this

roman2838_0-1733503232687.png

For comparison, it should look like this

roman2838_1-1733503302217.jpeg

The second image is taken from my phone, connected to the network via WiFi, the first from my PC, connected to the same network via cable.

Funnily enough the PC App recognizes the speaker once I've connected to it via the phone, as visible on the first screenshot. However, once I disconnect it vanishes into the nirvana again.

It stopped working around 2 weeks ago.
