Spotify Skips playlist in reverse and Loops the First Two Seconds of the Song

Hello! This issue began last night and has continued into today. I've cleared my browser cache on both Chrome and Firefox, updated both browsers to the latest version, and I have restarted my PC several times. I'm having no luck on my own, unfortunately.
I use the free version of the web player with UBlockOrigin, however, the extension is not affecting the player (I have turned it off and restarted my computer, and there was no change). When I select a song on my playlist, it cycles backward through the entire playlist until it reaches the top, then loops the first 2 seconds of that song.

Thanks for reaching out & for the recording!

This is an odd issue and I haven't quite seen anything like it these days. It's also peculiar that it's occurring with both browsers.

As a starting troubleshooting step, make sure you're not using any VPN services and, if possible, check if the same behaviour would be observed when using a different internet connection or a different device altogether 🙂

It's also a good idea to check if downloading the desktop app would result in the same behaviour being shown on it as well.

This exact same issue is happening to me! backwards through whatever playlist or album until its at the top song, then restarts after 2 seconds. Almost like the back button keeps getting pressed. I pay for premium and do not experience these issues on the mobile app, however i do have the same issue with the desktop app. Would really like some clarification as this issue has persisted on my desktop app for years and the web player was my workaround

Just to make sure we cover all bases, have you given the troubleshooting steps mentioned by @Vasil a try?

 

Another thing that comes to mind is clearing hosts file on your computer. You can do so by following the steps on this page.

 

It's also worth double-checking if an update is available for the PC, as well as for its sound drivers.
