My Question or Issue

Over the past few days, from about 1 pm edt on Monday, 24th of March, I have been unable to use the Spotify Web Player on my school laptop. It shows as either a pure black screen or a pure white screen. I have tried clearing my cookies, browsing data, restarting the browser, and many other things that were suggested, however I have not had an option that has worked yet. Spotify works on my phone and I haven't checked on my personal computer yet if it also works.

Thanks for reaching out. We'll be glad to help you use the web player once again.

 

Since you mentioned that it seems to work on other devices, it's most likely that the issue is on the laptop itself. It being a school machine, it almost certainly has several security restrictions and other special settings on it that are preventing proper server communication. While we know that installing programs usually isn't allowed on these, would it be possible to test the web player on a different browser? This will greatly help narrow down the possible root cause.

 

If it doesn't work on any browser or installing a different one isn't possible, then it's most likely a network issue. Consider double checking any firewall, antivirus and VPN settings and possibly letting Spotify through to ensure it has proper network access. You'll likely have to reach out to your school IT department for that.
