My Question or Issue
Since upgrading to Windows 11, the Spotify app will no longer load. I get the error about the missing Resampledmo.DLL file. The problem is, I have that DLL file, and I know it is working in Windows, because I had to solve this problem with another app on my PC after upgrading. However, Spotify does not seem to recognize it.
I completed a clean install of Spotify, including deleting all files and folders in AppData, restarted my PC, uninstalled and reinstalled using both the stand alone installer and the Microsoft Store version of the app, with no change in behavior.
Is there any action I can take to resolve this?
Solved! Go to Solution.
I tried to do that, but it didn't work.
Hey @celineee,
Thanks for your reply in this thread 🙂
Can you give us more details about the Spotify version you use on your computer? Also, did you notice if this happens on the Web player as well?
On another note, could you share with us the troubleshooting you’ve already done?
We'll keep an eye on your response!
I too am having issues on windows 11 . Spotify can't play track
Hi there @tttaaa,
Thank you for your reply in this thread.
Can you confirm that you followed the steps that's provided in this article? There's some more steps to help thoroughly uninstall the app from your device, so if you haven't, we'd highly suggest it since the steps will make sure there's no old cache files causing this.
If that doesn't do the trick, can you remove any lines from your hosts file by following the steps bellow:
Let us know how it goes after you've tried the troubleshooting above.
Have a great Friday and start of your weekend!
I haven't found a solution to this problem, but I have found a way to make it easier. With Chrome, when you go to the Spotify Web Player, there is a little download button at the top next to the URL where you can download the Web Player to your device.
Tried this and all the other things on this page - Spotify app still doesn't work.
Hey @tgariley,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.
Just to be on the same page and to avoid repeating processes, would you mind including the troubleshooting steps you've done so far?
In case you haven't tried before, could you check if your app has the option "Enable hardware acceleration" toggled on? If so, turn it off, restart the device and try again.
Lastly, to continue investigating your case, include in your next response the Spotify version you're currently running.
We'll be on the lookout.
Hello, i recently made an attempt to recreate this on my PC with little success. Spotify hasn't been working for me ever since i got windows 11 three weeks ago. I've restarted my PC, downloaded spotify after uninstalling it and then restarting my PC. I've tried to download this tool and yet it makes no difference. What else could i do to fix this issue?
Hey @6lime,
Thanks for your reply and for the info shared.
Great initial troubleshooting! We understand you've already tried reinstalling the app on your device, but we'd like you to perform, if you haven't yet, a clean (more thorough) reinstall of the Spotify app. You can find out the steps to do it here.
If that doesn’t do the trick, keep in mind it's possible to download the app from both the Microsoft Store and our Web page here. So in this case, if you installed the desktop app from the web page, try to uninstall that version and try installing the one from the Microsoft one or vice versa.
Lastly, would you mind sending us a full description of what you're seeing on your side? Is the app crashing or is it not playing certain content? Send us as many details as possible.
Keep us in the loop!
I myself can't find the Media Feature pack and uninstalling and/or reinstalling Spotify doesn't fix the problem. Web player works just fine, as does other media players, such as VLC or Windows' own Media player.
But I found a FIX:
Go to Spotify's settings, scroll to the bottom and unclick/unselect the hardware acceleration.
Worked for me at least, hopefully fixes your problem also!
Hey @pahapaavo,
Thank you for keeping in contact.
We're glad to know that everything is working fine now. We appreciate the time you took following the process and sharing what works for you. Hopefully, this tip will help other users too.
In case you need anything else, remember that we're just a post away.
Cheers!
hey, guys i had the same issue on windows 11! the same prblm the only thing that i changed b4 the issue is my dns (adguard public anti ads dns ...) , change it to default 1.1.1.1 the one used by router somehow seems to be fixing the problem
Oh man I was having the same issues as everyone else and this worked perfectly, great find and thanks!
This actually solved a bunch of my problems when upgrading to Windows 11. Originally my webcam wasn't working and I had an error with directx runtime installation where it would fail and tell me to check DXerror.log and DirectX.log. Both are working in addition to Spotify. Thanks!
I installed it but still it givrs me missing Resampledmo.DLL file
I can only play Spotify on the web version. I upgraded my computer from 10 to 11. I have tried installing and uninstalling but no luck. Any suggestions?
This is my computer does as well. I upgraded from 10 to 11.
upgraded from windows 10 to windows 11, tried all options in this thread outside of a clean install, the application does not load.
