Spotify doesn't open up its window and won't uninstall

Solved!

Spotify doesn't open up its window and won't uninstall

Hey there,

since two weeks, everytime I try to start the Spotify desktop version, the window does not appear. I'm able to find a task in my taskmanager indicating that Spotify should be running. However, it doesn't actually show me the player. I wanted to reinstall it, but everytime I tried to uninstall it via the control panel (with and without shutting down the task), this window doesn't appear either.

So I'm kind of desperate, because I don't know what to do anymore. I'd like to use the desktop version instead of the web player, but if there isn't any solution, I'll just uninstall it and use the browser version.

Any ideas, what I can do to reach this goal? ^^

Greetings,

Hi @Cr3x0,

Go to file explorer search %appdata%. Then delete the folder Spotify, Then delete /Roaming from the search bar and then go into Local and delete Spotify.

Same problem here. Don't know what is happening. I've been using the web player.

Same problem here.  Tried uninstalling in safe mode, reinstalling in compatibility mode, and just about everything else I could find on Google.

Nothing.

Just as the original poster said, there doesn't seem to be any way to run it or uninstall it.

Getting pretty tired of the bugs in the desktop client with Spotify.  After I get this piece of garbage finally removed from my computer, I'm switching to some other service.

Thanks, this did work for me 🙂 I deleted the two folders and when uninstalling Spotify via the control panel, it said, that there was a problem, because Spotify already seems to be deleted. Then I just reinstalled it and the window did pop up.

Thanks again,

have a nice weekend everyone 🙂
