Web player stuck in 'surround sound', can't turn it off? help!

Web player stuck in 'surround sound', can't turn it off? help!

Situation:
I got a new laptop and decided to set up my browser, only to find something strange- spotify's web player uses what sounds like surround sound / immersive audio. nothing else does, and i do not want it to use surround sound, it doesn't sound good, hurts my ears and i prefer normal audio better. the weird part is that i did literally nothing to turn this on, it was just like this from the get-go! and because the web player doesn't have any audio settings, there's seemingly no way for me to fix this. i've considered quitting spotify because of this issue, so if there's any way to fix this that isn't locked behind various paywalls, please help.

Hey @PIutonic,

Thanks for reaching out!

What I'd recommend is testing if the same behaviour would be observed if you change the browser you're playing from.
You can also try downloading the Spotify desktop app to see if the audio would behave differently.

Much appreciated! We'll be on the lookout for your reply 🙂
