Why is my app running so slow

I have performed multiple clean reinstalls of the spotify app, both the windows version and the og version, disabled hardware acceleration, etc. and the spotify app is still incredibly slow. my computer is good and this is the only program that runs so poorly. ive noticed that spotify, when running, will have at least 5 or 6 processes in the task manager at one time. please help ty.

Thanks for reaching out! Great troubleshooting so far 🙌🏼

Similar issues have appeared in the past where a playlist that had gotten too large had been interfering with the app's functionality as they were going through a refresh process.
If you have any such playlists with 1000 or more tracks in them (incl. your Liked Playlist) - try downloading them. 
After this - check the app's behaviour in both online and offline mode. See if there's a difference and let us know 🙂

I have the same issue, i also noticed that a the shuffle algorithm breaks with large playlists and just repeats around 100 songs or so (haven't checked). From my experience, the performance stays about the same if its downloaded or not.

oh also, on linux it seems to work fine
