My Question or Issue
When I hit play on a premade playlist not all the songs in the playlist will play and some songs that are not in the playlist will play. This only happens to me when I play the premade playlists that Spotify has created. Sometimes when I hit play on a playlist it will start on song 2, or song 4, or song 7. It feels very random. When I try to click play on the first song in the list, typically it will not play and nothing happens. Sometimes I can get it to play after several attempts and sometimes it plays the first time I select the play button next to the song. Shuffle isn't on at all and there isn't anything in my queue. This has been going on for a long time. I would love a playlist to just play what is showing on the screen. 😞
Hi there @smiddick,
Thanks for reaching out!
Is this happening when you're connected to Bluetooth or also when you're playing locally on the device? It's worth checking if you've blocked the artist you're trying to play by going to the artist's profile in the mobile phone app, clicking on the 3-dot menu and checking if "Don't play this artist" is selected. A clean reinstall can also help to make sure your apps are running the newest version.
It'd be great if you can send us a screen recording so that we can get a better understanding of what's happening. If the file is too large to attach, you can upload it to Google Drive (make sure to allow general access to the file) or as an unlisted YouTube video.
Let us know how it goes.
Hey there Elena,
Thank you for the response. This isn't happening when I am connected to Bluetooth, it happens when I'm playing locally on a device. I have experienced it on my phone and on my desktop. I haven't blocked the artists; other songs from the artists will play. I will try and get a screen recording of the issue next time it happens.
This issue is still happening. Yesterday I asked a smart home device to play my "On Repeat" Playlist and it did the same thing. Here is a link to a screen capture of the issue happening:

Please let me know if there are any issues viewing the file.
Thanks!
Hey @smiddick,
Thanks for getting back to us with the video.
It's unfortunately not accessible right now though, so can you please provide general access to it using these steps? Also, send us a few links to songs that are not being played so we can test on our end.
We'll be on the lookout for your response.
I forgot about this message. Thanks for the response and please try the link again, it should work for you now.
Thanks,
Stephen
Hey @smiddick,
Thanks for the reply!
We were able to access the link, thanks! It's possible that the playlist was updated when this happened causing new songs to play that aren't visible in it yet. Can you check if the songs in the queue correspond to the playlist order? Another thing you can try is going to your apps page and clicking on REMOVE ACCESS to remove any connected apps. You can re-link them again afterwards.
Keep us posted.
Hey @Dessi,
Thanks for the reply and attempting to solve the problem. I went to the "your apps page" and clicked REMOVE ACCESS on all connected apps. I deleted all browsing data and restarted the browser. I had to sign back into Spotify and then I started a playlist. The problem still exists. I went to my daily mix playlists and clicked on "Daily Mix 1" and the queue doesn't match what is in the playlist. Here is a screenshot of the playlist tracks and it shows what came up in the queue.
I can't be the only person that is dealing with this. Can I?
Thanks,
Stephen
Thanks for the response @smiddick and we'll continue investigating together.
We checked out the video once again and it seems that this is happening within the Web Player. Kudos for clearing the browsing data and restarting it. Make sure to also clear the cache and cookies if you haven't already and it'd be great if you could let us know if this persists if you open Spotify in another browser on your computer.
If you've got the Spotify app installed on your PC and the same thing happens there and like you mentioned that you've tested on your phone, then it's worth asking a relative or a friend to log in to their account on your device(s) to check if the same thing would happen when they play premade playlists that Spotify has created. Let us know what happens as it'll help us determine if it's possibly an account-related issue.
We'll be on the lookout 🙂
