why does Spotify keep playing endlessly at the end of a track?

Hi.

Sometimes Spotify just keeps playing silence at the end of a track and it never stops. I can't go to the next

song or a previous song or play a different playlist, it just seems completely stuck and keeps playing that same track endlessly.

I understand it happens on the web player only?
I would suggest you to go to your Spotify account and click on 'Sign Out Everywhere'. This will close all and any open sessions your account may have. Hopefully it will also cure this issue of yours.
Alternatively, deleting cookies + cache might help.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was able to resume normal playback by switching playback do a different computer

and switching it back.
