Lyrics or Music first when Writing

Hi

Do people normally write the music or Lyrics first for there songs or both at the same time?

This is my new track ‘Puppet Government’ below where I write the lyrics first.

I myself would do the lyrics first, just as you did. Although I have barely experience, I'm rather just a producer.

I hear more often about lyrics being written first from most of the popular artists I know but a few did the opposite. Don't remember who it was... It can be done both ways.

That's quite a nice old school rock tune you did.
