Answer:

Power off your device

It might sound basic, but some people over look this, and it can definitely help in some instances. To power off your PlayStation:

  • Select the Power on/off button from the function screen, and then select Turn Off PS4/PS5.
  • Press and hold the PS button on your controller for at least 1 second, and then select Turn Off PS4/PS5.
  • Press and hold the power button for at least 7 seconds (until the system beeps twice).

We’d also recommend unplugging your device and waiting for a few minutes before powering up again.

Sign out of the PlayStation Network

If you’re signed into the PlayStation Network, try signing out/back in again.

Select Settings > PlayStation™Network/Account management > Sign Out. To sign back in, select Settings > PlayStation™Network/Account management > Sign In.

Reinstall the app

To reinstall the app on your device, find PlayStation Music featuring Spotify in your start up menu and select OPTIONS [on your PS controller] > Delete. To reinstall the app, head to the PlayStation Store in your start up menu and search for Spotify.

Checking for updates

Usually, PlayStation will push updates automatically, so you’re not required to do this manually. However, it’s always worth checking to confirm you’re running the latest software, and if you’re not, manually updating accordingly.

Find PlayStation Music featuring Spotify in your start up menu and select OPTIONS [on your PS controller] > Check for Updates.

To check your PlayStation’s software is up-to-date, head over to Settings > System Software Update.

Memory

We’d recommend having at least 1GB of free memory on your device in order to use Spotify. To check your current memory usage, head to Settings > System Store Management > Free Space. You may need to delete some saved content if you have less than 1GB of free space available.

Internet connection

You’ll need an active internet connection in order to stream music with Spotify on PlayStation. To check your PlayStation has an active internet connection, head over to Settings > Network > Test Internet Connection. To set up an internet connection, select Settings > Network > Set up Internet Connection.

Using Spotify Connect

If you use Spotify on your mobile device or tablet, try connecting to your PlayStation using Spotify Connect. Here’s how:

  1. Open the Spotify app on your mobile device/tablet.
  2. Log into your Spotify account.
  3. When playing a track, tap the Now Playing bar at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Tap DEVICES AVAILABLE at the bottom of the screen.
  5. Choose your PlayStation from the list of devices available.

Note: Both devices must be connected to the same WiFi.
