▶️🔎 [Desktop App] Mini-Player for Spotify w/ Video Popout

Desktop iTunes has had a Mini-Player for ages, probably at least 10 years! I'd love for Spotify to have the same!

The main reasons why I'd prefer a Mini-Player:
  1. Easily re-sizeable without being constrained by elements within the typical Spotify Desktop interface. Spotify's recent UI/UX changes are appreciated, but even when the Library and Now Playing sidebars are minimized the app still has a minimum width of 1000px, or just more than half my 1080p display's width. Why?? Unshackle my desktop please Spotify!

  2. Ability to easily change Spotify's internal volume meter / skip songs / adjust EQ / change Output Device without Alt-Tabbing out, risking my full-screen apps' stability in the process. Many applications running in exclusive full-screen mode do not play nice with Alt-Tabbing. While this is not so much a problem in Windows 11, not many people have the ability to bind "Previous" or "Next" or "Pause/Play" to keybinds without the currently fullscreen-ed app taking the commands first. Who honestly prefers to press (FN+keybind1+keybind2) as opposed to just clicking a window in the corner?

  3. Ability to see the Currently Playing album artwork / Spotify Canvases / Podcast Video. More of a nice-to-have, but I grew up in a time where every media player had a built-in visualizer, if not an audio waveform analzyer hidden somewhere in the settings. Spotify Mobile has Canvases, I'm sure desktop users would like to have at least the option to see them too.

And with Podcasts being ultra-popular today, why wouldn't I want to see the visual pairing with my favorite podcaster's most recent episode? Why should I need a second desktop display to watch my podcast in?

  1. Pinning the Spotify window. This feature would multiply all the experiences I mentioned above by allowing users to interact with Spotify without keybinds or checking their background apps, and enables user to deeply engage with content without shattering their workflow.Screenshot 2024-02-27 113920.png

Most in-browser media players allow users to "pop-out" or enable Picture-In-Picture so people can continue their work in Google Drive, M365, or whatever else webapps without disrupting their flow! Why can't Spotify do the same for visual media?

Spotify would hugely benefit from having a Mini-Player feature!! Please add this, and thank you for reading!

Hey! In the last desktop update they added a Mini-Player. For now it doesn't have volume control. But it's still nice to have! It also adapts to different designs when you change the window size.
