Add support for Android TV

Android TV is Google's latest take on Android for the TV and is released with Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The first device running Android TV is Google's own device Nexus Player.

The good thing with Android TV is that it runs regular Android apps with some modifications and it also has built in support for Google Cast.

At last! I have a Sony Bravia 2015 with Android TV of course and the only issue I have is that I have to push play several times to make the song play, anyone else is getting this problem?

Same here (Nexus Player). Just the Spotify logo with three animated dots. Connect works (music plays), but can't see anything but the logo on the black screen. 😞

I'm not able to install this on my Shield TV, it doesn't appear when I search for it in Google Play. Other unofficial apps appear, but not the official from Spotify.

If I do a global search (from the Shield TV start screen), Spotify Music - for Android TV appears. If I select it, I'm brought to the Google Play page for the app, but there's no option to install the app.

Is there a regional limitation on the app?

I also have an issue with this App. I'm using it on a Philips PUS7100/12 Android TV and I only get a black screen with the Spotify logo whenever I open it from the launcher or from Spotify Connect on my phone. Does anyone else experience this?

 It would be great to have a possibility to exit the app by Back button. 

Currently I need to use Home, which is not mapped by HDMI CEC

(I have an Android TV set-top box and use TV's remote to control it via HDMI CEC)

google play is telling me I can't download it because it's not available in my country. Although the TV is listed in the same country as my phone (I have spotify premium for it): the Netherlands. This does not seems normal, why unavailable on TV only? I have a Sony Bravia
