[Android][Connect] Bring back support for removed BMW Connected Drive Integration

Share this with everyone you know and ask them to vote!

Spotify Integration with BMW Idrive 6 has always been sporadic and not all advertised features work. The latest Spotify versions 8.5.68.904 and 8.5.6.9.934 have bugs and the App does not appear in IDrive at all. The pervious version of Spotify was somewhat unreliable as I had to occasionally repair my phone with the car. I can no longer see the Spotify App in my BMW media list.

I can only listen to spotify from the bmw bluetooth audio option.

I've tried pairing an iPhone and the app appears on iDrive. For my android issue I deleted the App data and cache of both Bmw ConnectedDrive and Spotify app. I also unpaird the bluetooth connection between my smartphone car. Lastly, I uninstalled both Spotify and the BMW Apps. Nothing works.

Additionally, it would be great if my Playlist order in my car matched the order on the phone. For example, although my phone app is sorted alphabetically, my car would only show playlists in the order of what was most recently created.

Who else thinks Spotify needs to get it together and provide a quality app that integrates with iDrive?

Fix the Spotify Bug!

  • When I register to Spotify a year ago, BMW was the only reason. I guess you can find many apps or just bt listening, doing the same thing or even better.
  • Come on BWM.....

Well BMW idrive could improve but this Thread is really about why "Spotify" that removed the funktion for Android. 😊

I would like to control spotify again with my car (much much safer!!!) and not needing to use the phone for it. At the Moment i have a family subscribtion but if this feature (the reason i subscribed!) is not comming back soon i will cancel it. I guess we need to vote with the wallet and not with the "vote button"

I doubt any of the Spotify staff are reading this thread...there has been ZERO response from Spotify and basically they have forsaken all BMW owners using Android.

Wow.

We wait 2 months for a response and this is all you have to say? A generic copy paste response.

This is customer services at it's lowest.  We had a working application which did virtually everything we needed it to do and you've taken it away from us.

I don't understand why you think it's ok to alienate thousands of Spotify / Android / BMW owners and stop their ability to use the app in the car, yet something like an Apple Widget is more important and under consideration?

I am very disappointed with your response to this and will now have to move away from your services entirely, which is a huge disappointment.

Yep, glad I cancelled last month and move to YouTube music. No integration, just Bluetooth, but I'm not going to support a company that does not listen to its user community. Also I don't get ads on YouTube, huge plus there, haha.

Amazing, Spotify should be a case study on what NOT to do. Removing a perfectly working feature, then post it here as an idea that Spotify summarily dismisses.

Failure of the highest order indeed.

RIP spotify

Incase anyone is looking for a temporary solution, downgrade your Spotify version to 8.5.66.1002 and turnoff automatic updates on the app in the play store. Someone posted a safe link in an earlier post for the download.

Not ideal as we won't get to see any new features and it could be a security risk in the long-term but at least it works for now.
