Screenshot Detection for Social Sharing

Spotify should bring back the feature that detects screenshots, allowing users to easily share what they’re listening to on Instagram Stories and other platforms with a visually appealing, aesthetic layout.

Information:

Previously, when users took a screenshot while listening to a song, Spotify would detect it and offer a pop-up for sharing directly to Instagram Stories. This feature provided a clean, aesthetic background with the song’s details and a clickable option for followers to “Open on Spotify” or “Play on Spotify.” It enhanced the sharing experience by making it visually appealing and interactive, allowing friends to easily access the music being shared. Sharing the playlist was an especially useful feature, as it allowed others to easily view and explore the full playlist the song came from.

Currently, taking a screenshot doesn’t offer this option anymore, and it feels less interactive—almost like simply sharing a static image. Bringing back this feature would make sharing music more fun and would seamlessly integrate Spotify with social media, allowing users to share the exact moment they’re vibing to a song while making it easy for friends to listen along.
I’m sharing a screenshot of what I mean to better illustrate this feature, and I hope it can be brought back—it was a cool and engaging way to share music with friends.
