17 finnish songs in discover weekly

Solved!

17 finnish songs in discover weekly

It started with just a few songs a week, which was just fun. It was something different to listen to, and some of them could even be good.

Then it becamse more and more, and this week I got 17 finnish songs on my discover weekly!

This seems to happen a bit now and then for people, like this one:

Is there some way of telling Spotify to show less of these kinds of songs in the Discover weekly? It is quite useless like this.

Hey @Baertah,

Welcome to the community!

The Discover Weekly playlist gets updated based on how frequently you stream music as well as your listening habits. Saving more of your favourite tunes and adding them to playlists should teach Spotify about your music tastes a lot better.

You can also like or dislike tracks as you hear them so that Spotify knows for future reference and can improve your Discover Weekly playlist. By disliking Finnish songs, you will start getting less Finnish songs in your Discover Weekly playlist in the future.

To LIKE a track, click/tap icon_heart.png in the Now Playing view while it plays. This automatically saves it to your Songs collection and your Discover Weekly will remember you like it.

To DISLIKE a track, click/tap icon_no.png in the Now Playing view while it plays so it won’t crop up in your Discover Weekly again. You’ll also get the option to remove all songs by that artist from your Discover Weekly.

Let me know if you have any questions. Happy listening 🙂

Thanks for the answer! I'll try to click dislike on all of the Finnish songs and hope that it helps.

I still think that something is a bit wrong when I have lots of playlist with various kinds of music, and then there are suddenly 17 Finnish songs in the discover weekly!

Hey @Baertah,

You're welcome! Just give me a shout if anything else comes up 🙂

I had a similar problem with my Discover Weekly a few weeks ago, about half of the songs were in French. After disliking all of the French songs, they have stopped appearing in my Discover Weekly playlist.
