Ads interrupting (and preventing) playback

This just started this afternoon: when I start playing one of my playlists (the Western one, though it probably doesn't matter), it will get part of the way through a song, and then when the (banner) ad switches, it kills the music. I think this only happens if the ad is a "noisy" one (the kind that used to play a tiny blurp before being squelched by Spotify), but I'm not positive about that.

Workaround:

I hate to do this, because it might hinder the artists getting the ad revenue they need, but if I install uBlock origin (with the default settings), it keeps the ads from breaking playback.
