Album doesn't play in desktop app but plays in web player

Hello,

I was listening to one of my playlists in the desktop app (on Windows 8.1) when I noticed it kept skipping over a certain song - "Wildfire" by SBTRKT. (https://open.spotify.com/track/2WMRd3xAb9FwXopCRNWDq1) I tried to play the album that song is on (https://open.spotify.com/album/5fP2kgfePJZF4nB1XqC1i8) to see if it was just that song, but it couldn't play any song from the album. I thought the song had been made unavailable due to licensing, so I tried to access it via the web player - and it actually played, but only in the web player. It still wouldn't play in the desktop app.

Can someone please help me? I have some pictures below:

Hi! Try reinstalling. It fixes most problems. You should follow the guide in the link correctly. Hope this helps 🙂

Thanks for the help! While it did fix the problem with SBTRKT, it seems to keep affecting random albums - a few minutes ago, it was affecting MGMT's Oracular Spectacular. (https://open.spotify.com/album/6mm1Skz3JE6AXneya9Nyiv) Reinstalling fixed it for this album, but some other album will probably have it now. Does anyone know of any permanent solutions to this?
