[Android] [Google Home] won't resume podcast from where I left off

I am using 2 Google Home Minis grouped together, and using Spotify connect to play a podcast on them from my Android phone. When I disconnect and then reconnect at a later point in time, I find that none of the progress I made has been tracked, and my spot in the podcast is lost.

Google home mini info: 

System firmware version: 114510

Cast firmware version: 1.31.114510

Phone Info:

Essential PH-1

Android 8.1.0

Spotify 8.4.46.575 armV7

Please let me know if there are any logs or additional information needed.

Have you tried "ok google pause" and "ok google resume"

I had an issue with the Google Home Mini not resuming tracks on spotify but I was saying "ok google stop the music" instead of "ok google pause".

Now it works well and with the new ability to connect a bluetooth speaker it's pretty freakin' awesome!

I can't resume podcasts on any Android device. 

I pause the podcast for 5 minutes on my android phone and when i want to resume, it starts over from the beginning.
