Audio periodically will not play (though playback appears to progress) on Apple TV app

I've been using the latest official version of Apple TV OS, along with the latest Spotify app for Apple TV. Frequently I begin attempting to play music from the Spotify app for Apple TV, and it appears to play, but no sound comes out. I can always resolve the issue by force closing and re-opening the Spotify app, but this is annoying and cumbersome. I would like to report this bug and see if we can get it fixed.

Also, I am reproducing exactly the same issue behavior on a different Apple TV device, in a different location, on a different network, etc.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

 

To start investigating this issue and in case you haven’t tried before, We’d recommend performing a reinstall of the Spotify app on the Apple TV. This is often an overlooked step, but it could be helpful in getting rid of the damaged cache that may be causing issues. 

 

If this doesn't do the trick, give a check to this article to adjust the audio settings, they might make a difference.

Uninstalling/re-installing appears to have fixed it! Will report back if the issue ever recurs.

Actually, the issue has recurred. Music currently appears to be playing from the Spotify app on my Apple TV, but no sound is being outputted.  

 

Just now I did a force quit of the Spotify app on the Apple TV, re-launched it, starting playing music again, and this time it both appears to be playing and outputs sound as it should.

 

Something is clearly wrong with the app to be causing audio to sometimes not be outputted, requiring a force quit. This is the only Apple TV app with which I've encountered this issue. Please let me know what further info I can provide.
