Bluetooth speaker missing the start of sentences after a gap

Listening to podcasts on my (android) phone in the car I noticed that after a gap in speech my Bluetooth fm transmitter misses off the start of the next sentence. Having looked on the internet I am not alone in this and it also affects the start of songs. It's not just Spotify and it seems to be a problem with some Bluetooth speakers where they take too long to respond after a gap in sound. The only work-around I found is to have an app playing ambient noise in the background so there is no silence. I think it's something that could be looked into by Spotify etc as well as the speaker manufacturers to avoid this loss of sound. Has anyone else experienced this, and what did you do?
