Can’t play 2.1 on a Marantz SR 5012, no subwoofer

I have a typical 5.1 setup with bookshelf speakers bi-amped. Works great for tv and movies. Hoping to play Spotify on stereo setting with subwoofer. Is this possible?

At my sr5012 the sub gets signal when choosing "stereo" from the Music sound modes along with the other sound modes.

I like the sound of the Multi Channel option very much by the way....

Further, when you press Option on your remote, choose "Channel Level Adjust" and tune the volume of each speaker incl. your sub 😉
