Clear play queue in web player

Solved!

Clear play queue in web player

There is no way to clear the play queue in spotify web player: open.spotify.com
There should be a button to clear all the music in the queue next to the Queue.

Platform: Mozilla Firefox
Client: Spotify Web Player (https://open.spotify.com)

Fine, I guess I have to try and login to mobile/desktop app to turn autoplay off from there. Hopefully I'll be able to listen autoplay-free from webplayer then. Thank you for your help. I really appreciate for keeping up with me.

Hey @murla,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

To make sure we're on the same page, the functionality from your screenshot is the Next section, which will switch to a different one if you choose a new playlist, album or a song.

The Queue itself can be cleared. You can test this by adding songs to it. Then the button to clear the queue will appear on the top right side next to the songs you've added.

Hope this helps,

Cheers!

Hi, Elena. Your solution only helps clearing the songs I've manually added to the queue. But doesn't clear the songs from "Next up" . I want to clean the whole slate and start a new queue. Is there a way to achieve that? Thanks.

Hey @murla,

Thanks for the reply.

At this point it is not possible to clear the Next up section, but the songs that are shown there should not get in the way of you starting fresh. That section shows all the songs from a playlist or an album that will play next but if you start playing a different piece of content they will disappear.

If you're just playing a single and want the music to stop after it you can turn off Autoplay with the steps here.

If you still have any questions, we'd be happy to help.

Hi Elena, even turning off autoplay will be a massive improvement. But the documentation only has support for disabling it in Desktop and Mobile apps. There is no option to turn off autoplay in web player.

Hey @murla,

Thanks for the reply.

The AutoPlay feature can be toggled off from the desktop or mobile apps. You can open Settings > Playback > AutoPlay similar songs when music ends on other devices and make sure it's set to OFF.

Keep in mind that this will stop playback after an album, playlist or a single, which means that if you play a track from an album the rest of the songs in there will stream after that as well.

Hope this helps,

Cheers!
