Hi there,
Thanks for posting this thread in the Community!
As far as I understand, you're redirected to the Dolby settings on your phone if you go to the equalizer within the Spotify app itself, but it would be great if you could you give us some more info so we can get a better understanding of the situation. On another note, have you tested with any steps in order to prevent this from happening?
If you haven't already, you could check for any settings within your phone that determine the equalizer/sound settings on the device and try changing them. Also, if the behavior started upon installation of the Dolby app on your phone, in case it's possible you could test with uninstalling it to see if this would change anything.
Lastly, it would be very helpful if you could send us a video recording of the behavior so we can take a look. You can either attach it to your next response via the Insert Video option in the post editor or upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us.
We'll be on the lookout for your response 🙂
Thanks for your reply, my phone can't record my screen so I'll try to send helpful screenshots if that helps. I've also tried to search dolby atmos in my apps with nothing showing up, if you have something more specific I need to search, please notify me! I also do not know of any current ways to get around the problem; besides switching to a device like a laptop.
I have the exact same issue with my spotify app...equalize settings give me only Dolby options. I did find that the Dolby for Gaming a more well-rouned and balanced tone - better everything beyond just bass . Better anyway, until i fond a solution. (There's more to music than the bass line but seems like the only thing you get on so many music apps. )
I'm sorry, I can't quite record anything because my device does not have an option to do so, but: I open spotify and go to the Playback part of my settings, and scroll down to the equalizer. I expect something like the spotify equalizer to show up (like it does on my computer) but it boots me to dolby atmos in my settings (I am on a phone.) I cannot find any way to make it how I want without using my phone's equalizer which changes the sound for everything I ever do, which I do not want. I am able to turn dolby atmos off, and I have. But it still boots me to that in my settings without pulling up the equalizer I wish to mess with.
Hey folks,
Thanks for your replies.
Could you let us know if this has always happened or if it started happening after a specific event such as an update? It's also worth checking if the OS of your phones has any pending updates.
Additionally, running a clean reinstall can help ensure you're using the latest version and clear out any potential issues caused by cached files.
Lastly, could you let us know the exact make/model, operating system and Spotify version of your device?
We'll be waiting for your replies.
Hi Eni,
I am having the same issue, and I have deleted and reinstalled Spotify. Clicking equalizer on my phone just sends me to my phone's normal settings, to a tab under Dolby Atmos. This is not an application, but it showe up nontheless. I noticed this switch after changing from iPhone to Samsung, and I believe that the original poster also has a Samsung.
Hey @strangelyanna,
Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.
You mentioned that you've already reinstalled the app, but would you mind going through the steps of a clean reinstall, as it's more thorough than a normal one?
Also, could you check if the OS of your phone has any pending updates? If there isn't any, sending us the exact make/model, operating system and Spotify version of your device would come in handy.
We'll be waiting for your reply.
