My Question or Issue
Heya,
I just signed up for a new premium account but the crossfade is not working on both desktop and android.

I already tried:

  1. switching on/off the crossfade feature
  2. closing/opening the apps
  3. clean reinstall of both app (PC and phone) following the step by step tutorial.

The devices are also not connected together (NO "spotify connect").

What else shoudl I try?
Thanks for any help.

Hey there @kyriannairyk,

Thanks for reaching out!

Just to check, could you try logging out > restart your devices > log back in to see if that makes any difference? Does the same thing also happen if you connect to another network? For example, if you're currently using 4G/5G, you can connect to WiFi.

Also, if a family member or a friend has a Spotify account, it could be a good idea to ask them to log in on any of your devices to see if they'll experience the same.

Should the issue persist, can you send us some more info on what's happening from your end? Are you receiving any error messages when using the feature? Does it happen with a specific playlist? If possible, feel free to include a video or photo showing how things look for you.

Let us know how you get on.

Hi Maria,
I just realized that cross-fade works if I let a track play up to the end, it does not work if I manually swipe to the next one.
I guess this is just the way it works?
Pity, I needed this for meditation groups where I have to manually move between tracks without silence... maybe is there some APP add-on to act as a virtual DJ on Spotify?

Thanks!

Hey @kyriannairyk,

Thanks for the reply and for the additional info!

When Crossfade is switched on, it will only take affect as long as the full track plays. If you change to another song before the end, the new track will play right away, which means that the Crossfade settings won't apply.

It's not possible to use the feature while changing track, however, you may also find this idea about being able to use Crossfade while skipping a track interesting so feel free to check it out, if you haven't already. Note that despite its status, the idea is open for voting, so you can still give it a thumbs up. We revisit such ideas on a regular basis and it just might be that their time would be right in the future.

We hope this clear things up. If anything else comes to mind, we're just a post away!

I have to tap for the next song to play. The Crossfade is not functioning. Always in an off position.
