My Question or Issue
I noticed recently the amount of releases that will load in the What's New section will stop when scrolling down a certain amount on the desktop app. The mobile app loads a lot more releases in the What's New feature. I track a lot of releases to place in my New Release playlist weekly, and now I have to go to my phone to load a longer list in the What's New section so I can accurately load all of the new releases from artists I follow. This is an ISSUE I strongly believed should be FIXED.
Please allow a much longer list to load in the What's New feature on the deskop app version of Spotify. Allowing this helps serve Spotify's customers by being able to utilize the What's New section for what it is purposely there for: To see all new releases an account follows, regardless of the number of artists an account follows as the purpose of following artists is to be able to track their new releases. If the What's New feature fails to list all new releases, that functionality is broken and does not serve its purpose to fruition.
Hey there @Zipherys,
Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.
We appreciate you taking the time to share this report with us and will make sure to pass it onto the right team. We can't confirm when or if this will be fixed, but we'd recommend keeping the app up to date so you don't miss out on any possible fixes or improvements.
Rest assured, we'll also keep an eye on more reports about this so we can further investigate.
If you need a hand with anything else, the Community is here for you.
I'm affected by this, too. I use the What's New list religiously and this severely hinders how I use Spotify.
The problem is that i can't view all the new releases of the Friday. The limit used to be wider one month ago.
Hi there @alejandroann,
Thanks for reaching out. We hope you don't mind us moving your post out of the ideas section to one of our Help boards for now.
We checked from our side and the New Releases section is not limited to 50 options. If you're only getting that, we'd suggest logging out and back in twice in a row. This will trigger a sync between the app and your account. Additionally, go to the app's settings > Storage > Clear cache. If that doesn't help, try logging in with a different account to check if that makes a difference.
On another note, you mention Friday, so we think you might be talking about the playlist New Music Friday. Take into account that the number of songs added to this playlist varies every week, so what you see this week is what every other user is seeing. The playlist might have more or maybe fewer songs next Friday.
Let us know if you have any questions.
I too would like to see the "What's New" list not capped. I follow many artists in which I would hate to miss a release from.
Hi, having the same issue - a limit of 50 in the PC-client and 150 in IOS.
150 might seem enough, but if you follow (a lot) of artists this will be a definite limitation. You will miss the "oldest" new releases scheduled at Friday 00:00 when passing the 150 limitation and you cannot easily know which ones you missed. A real bummer for the artists not reaching out to their fans and likewise for you not knowing if your favorite artist released something or not.
It would really help having the complete list for at least last week, no matter the amount of releases.
As an artist today I wouldn't want to release anything at Fridays, with this limitation, rather mid-week
to make sure the music is displayed properly in the new releases list.
Hope this can be fixed, it would really help a lot for everyone.
All the best
Roan
