Distinguishing Tracks Added to Single Playlists

Distinguishing Tracks Added to Single Playlists

Subject: Distinguishing Tracks Added to Single Playlists

Dear Spotify Team,

I am writing to suggest a potential improvement to the Spotify user interface. As a frequent user and a passionate music lover, I believe this feature could enhance the overall user experience.

Proposal:

I propose the creation of a new small icon beside each track in the library or playlist view. This icon would visually indicate whether the track has been added to only one playlist or multiple playlists. This would allow users to quickly identify and manage tracks that are exclusively part of a specific playlist.

Benefits:

  • Improved Organization: Users could easily locate tracks that are tied to a single playlist, making it simpler to manage their music library.
  • Enhanced Efficiency: When creating or editing playlists, users could more efficiently select tracks based on their existing playlist associations.
  • Personalized Experience: This feature would cater to users who prefer to keep their playlists organized and distinct.

I believe this suggestion aligns with Spotify's commitment to providing a seamless and personalized music listening experience. Thank you for considering my feedback.

Sincerely,

Pooya Mohammadhossein

Hey there @pooyair,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

We hope you don't mind us moving your post out of the ideas section to one of our Help boards as it fits better here.

That being said, we’d like you to know that this is already possible within the app. With the plus button (+), you can see on the Now Playing View if the song that is playing is part of one or more of your playlists. You just need to tap it to see where you can find the song within your playlists. You can find out how to use it in this article.

If perhaps the idea you have in mind works differently, feel free to post your suggestion again, making sure you follow our Idea Exchange Guidelines. That way, others will find it easily and can show their support.

We hope you found this helpful. Let us know if you need anything else.

Hey AlejaR,

No problem, I knew about + button so seems a misunderstanding , I meant two icons on each Track and Song , one of the as in the past (+) the new future could be another really small icon beside the + (button).

Cheers!

Pooya.
