Does spotify notify artists of playlist placement before or after the release goes live?

Can someone who's been playlisted please answer? I have song I pitched less than a week ago that I'd like to delete and reupload with changes. I just don't want to lose my placement on the off-chance I've been put on a playlist but wasn't notified yet. I've had the release date set for several weeks from now. Would using the same ISRC help? Thanks for your help!

Hey @prairietrash,

Thanks for writing about this here in the Community.

You will be notified via email when your song gets released on Spotify (not earlier) in the even it got featured in any Spotify editorial playlists. 

To confirm, anything you do to edit your pitch will automatically lead to reuploading the song and losing your previous place in the submissions queue.

Thanks for posting your question here and welcome to the Community.

The notifications should be received on the email address connected to Artist profile that pitched the content, and we agree that it can be also the labels' email if they are the ones managing your Artist account. It's best of course if you send this question to the folks at Spotify for Artists help center, as they'll be able to take a closer look if needed.

Our editorial team is the on in charge to manage the playlists you kindly mentioned. They consider several details to include a track on a Spotify playlist and it can take some time if it's considered. 

These playlists are called Editorial playlists and they’re curated by our playlist editors. Many playlists have several editors in different locations to find music from all around the world. You can read more about this in this article under Editorial playlists.
