My Question or Issue
So it seems that the lastest algorithm update for 'Fans also like' has completely **bleep** a bunch of peoples feeds, personally I'm a melodic techno artist, and previously was associated with some of my peers at the relative same level. After the update overnight, I'm now associated with Rap artist, Country music artist ect.
Did anyone in spotify actually check to make sure this 'update' wasn't going to destroy peoples artist profiles?
Me too. This seems to be happening to lots of people. Hope it gets fixed soon. I wish they gave us more input on how the system work. Like let us pick a couple bands that we believe are similar to us, then work down from there like Pandora does.
Hi there @chejoseofficial, @DoomNation,
Thanks for reaching out. Consider performing a clean reinstall and then logging out and then back in twice in a row. This might sound odd, but this can force a synchronisation with the servers, helping resolve such issues.
Hope this helps.

My Question or Issue
I have a huge problem with FANS ALSO LIKE on my artist profile.
since few months it shows artists which are TOTALLY not adequate to my profile/genre music/my listeners. My streams delivered a ton of data to spotify and this is not changing at all. Currently I have over 70k of listeners monthly and streams come from legit playlists which include my genre and artists similiar to me so it's not a problem of botted data or sth like this.
What's more - my mobile app recently started to show CORRECT FANS ALSO LIKE - but desktop app still shows incorrect artists. What's even weirder - on other spotify accounts (premium/free) this data is also incorrect.
So the only place which is showing correct FANS ALSO LIKE is my mobile app.
I reported this several times to Spotify through chat messages but the chat operators were not helpful at all - they close conversation when they see the problem, and paste standard information about how fans also like works.
I was looking for the solution on google and: - i've logged out of of all my devices and logged back in to force "syncing" of data - but that doesn't help at all.
nothing helps, Spotify helpdesk is not helpfull at all.
Can someone tell me what I can do to show proper data on my profile? It seems it got stuck and is not changing at all.
thank you
On my Spotify Artist profile, the "Fans Also Like" section has been showing completely unrelated artists for quite some time. These artists don't align with reality. It appears to be some sort of error or spam, a Spotify issue. I’ve tried reaching out to Spotify chat support, but their responses were unhelpful, constantly redirecting me to unrelated topics. Frustrating. Thank you for any advices how to solve this situation.
Hi Joan, not sure if we are on the same page. The wrong/spam artists in the "Fans Also Like" section is not an issue with our app on our devices. It appears that way for everyone, even on the Spotify for Artists website (in our artist profiles). I was trying to fix it with spotify support getting automated responses without understanding the real issue. Its an error by spotify - any ideas how to fix it?
Have you recently been added to a playlist with these bands on it or had one of those promo companies add your song to their playlists? Make sure that you are very specific in your artist profile about your genre and influences. Since they ditched Glenn the whole eco system got all unstable and wonky. The bands on my FAL are appropriate to the genre I play (some REALLY good) but mostly bands with the same amount of listeners or less. I liked it better when they were matched with more mid sized bands which I regularly listen to that got me a wider audience.
Since Glenn McDonald is gone, they should just go back to using last dot fm as their data source. Their list similar artists are super accurate.
