Fix Now Playing view

On Mac OS X, There is a very annoying bug regarding the Now Playing view. It is present since the feature was first implemented and the fix for it must be really simple.

Occasionally ( I assume that whenever the Spotify application updates? but it could be triggered by something else ) the setting to "show the now playing panel on click of play" turns itself back on automatically, in spite of the user turning it back off every time it does this, leading to an app behavior that makes Spotify feel unpolished. It is enough of a reason to switch to another streaming platform. This issue occurs pretty often and I believe it is important enough to bring into attention. Such attention to detail is the bare minimum for a modern application, especially for something as good as Spotify. I am looking forward to a fix for this and a great experience for everyone!

We hope you don't mind us moving your post out of the ideas section to one of our Help boards as it fits better here.

We couldn't replicate the behavior you kindly mentioned above. That being said, we'd suggest you reinstall the app on your computer to see if you notice any difference. By doing that, the app can be up-to-date, and you can make sure the cache is not leading to this inconvenience. You can find out the steps to do it here. After that, toggle the option off on the settings to see how it goes.

If the above doesn't do the trick, we'd like to gather some additional info. Would you mind sending us the make/model and OS of the affected device along with the Spotify version you're running there?
