Google Nest speaker does not play although Spotify says it is playing.

On both Android and Windows Spotify apps it shows playing nest speaker, but it does not. Google assistant will activate Spotify, but no sound. I can choose the "Living Room Speaker" and still no sound. In all cases, Spotify shows it is playing but there is no sound. I have power cycled the speaker, removed the device and added it back in via Google Home, uninstalled and reinstalled the apps. Placed the speaker within inches of the access point with no luck. All other streaming works so I'm inclined to think it's an issue with Spotify. Speaker firmware v324896, Cast firmware on the speaker v1.56.324896 -

Would you mind checking if the firmware of the speaker is up to date? 

On another note, could you check if the same happens while using a different internet connection?
