How do I filter explicit songs on Blend playlists?

How do I filter explicit songs on Blend playlists?

On other parts of the app, there's an option to filter out explicit songs when listening to an album/playlist. However, when I go to create/listen to Blend playlists, I can't find this option. It'd be particularly helpful when creating Blends with family members who I don't want to be exposed to explicit content, but with whom I'd still like to share music.

Hey @mbauss

Thanks for getting in touch about this and welcome to the Community.

If you switch "Allow Explicit Content" off in the app settings this will apply to all content in the app that have the explicit tag. Keep in mind that not all explicit content is tagged because this depends on the information we get from rights-holders.

Since this apply for each account, if you create a Blend playlist with other users in order for them to avoid hearing explicit content, they need to switch that option off in the app settings on their own account as well.

For more info, we suggest that you take a look at this article.

This was useful thanks, but it looks like not much has changed in terms of options for explicit content. I would like to play songs with explicit content BUT I would like to create a shared playlist and only disallow explicit songs within this playlist. I have not found an option to do this without blocking it for my entire account.

Hey @Cybercypher,

Thanks for reaching out!

Since there isn't a feature to filter explicit songs in such playlists yet, you can create an idea about it - others can then show their support by giving it a thumbs up and sharing their feedback! Check out this page for more information.

In the meantime, you can try manually removing the explicit songs from the Blend on mobile by tapping the the three dots menu > Remove from this playlist.

We hope this helps.

Take care
