How do i remove duplicates between playlists?

How do i remove duplicates between playlists?

I'm familiar with spotify de-dupe but it only works within playlists. I need to remove duplicates that exist between two separate playlists.

Hey @JaggedBaLz,

Thanks for posting here in the Community 🙂

Currently there is no option to automatically remove duplicates that exist between two separate playlist. We always strive to improve our app and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us.

You can have a look in our Idea Exchange to see if someone else has already made a similar suggestion. If there isn't one, you can give these steps a go and submit your idea. That way other users can support it. Rest assured the higher the number of votes an idea gets, the more likely it is for it to be implemented.

You can also click here to find more information about how your feedback reaches Spotify.

If you have questions, don't hesitate to reach out to us. We'll be happy to help.

Hello again, I have tried out the website. This is not going to be a full response with suggestions but just the ones that matter most for me. Overall the tool is amazing, it's exactly what I need to be able to edit my playlists. However there is a slight issue that I think can be solved very easily. My use for this tool will be to manage and clear duplication between extremely large playlists (several playlists with the maximum of 10,000 songs). Since I will be returning hundreds or thousands of duplicated that need to be marked for removal, it would be extremely helpful to be able to use shortcuts like Shift + Click/Ctrl + A (some menu to be able to do so without keyboard shortcuts would also do).

Now that's an issue I think could help everybody using the app...however I have a bigger Issue I suppose is more of a me problem. As I mentioned, my use-case for this tool is to be working with, admittedly, insanely large playlists as well as a very large number of them. 10,884 playlists to be exact. The issue is that the website times out with an error when I try to load my playlists from spotify. At around 100-120 loaded it gives me this error.

This might be enough info for you to know what the issue is, in the case it's not, I'm almost 100% certain I know what is happening. Here's an explanation someone else gave me when I told them my issues with loading a large collection of playlists into their app.

"Unfortunately Spotify Web API allows to only fetch like 50 playlists at a time, so it would require 200 requests to fetch all of yours. There is a hard limit of 4 minutes per request on Azure (which the app is hosted on), so that doesn't help either. Will probably need to fetch them in batches and not all at once."

I'm not sure if your app is hosted on Azure or not, but if you'd be willing to implement to ability to load all of my playlists I know it would take a long time, but as long as it works I'd use it.

I'd also like to link this app that I have found that is able to load all of my 10,884 playlists in just a few minutes. It doesn't do what this app does (its only use is to count playlist and song number and subsequently unfollow playlists) but I think it might still be useful in seeing how it is able to fetch all my playlists so quickly

I know this is a lot to ask so please feel no pressure. I'm here pretty much 24/7 to try and help with anything I can and give feedback if you need.

Thanks for the input.  I agree with your oboservaton of a probable timeout when attempting to load >10000 playlists. I have some questions and would like to continue the investigation offline.  Can you send me an email at spotifyfinderapp at gmail dot com.
