Hey there!

Thanks for reaching out 🙌🏼
Could you let us know why you believe Autoplay is not disabled? What suggestions play after your chosen tracks and do they also appear in the queue?
As this may be caused by a different setting, we'd appreciate it if you could send us a link to a video recording of the issue so we can take a look! 🙂

We'll be on the lookout for your response.

Hi Vasil

I'm having the same issue. When I get to the end of an album or playlist with nothing in the queue, it will start playing "recommended songs for you", which will be similar to what was playing.

I've attached screenshots, the video was much too large to upload.

Hi Vasil

Is this still being looked at, or would it be a good idea for me to post my similar issue as a seperate topic?

Hey @Psycholosophist,

Thank you for keeping in contact and for the info sent.

Since this issue could be related to some damaged cache stored on your device, we'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps in this article.

If the issue persists, in order to continue investigating your case, would you mind checking on a different device (using your own account) to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can borrow one from a friend or family member to test it out.

Also, include in your next response the make, model, and OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running. This will give us a better look at the issue.

We'll be on the lookout,

Hi OscarDC

I'm using Spotify 8.8.56.538 on a Pixel 3a, Android Ver 12.

I did a clean install, and the problem persisted. When I checked the settings, Autoplay had turned itself on (some other settings had changed too). I toggled it back off, but it continued as before.

I then tested it on PC (which I rarely use), it had the same behaviour. I checked the PC Spotify settings, and Autoplay was on. I turned Autoplay off on the PC and it turned off on my phone as well, solving the issue for me.

I did some more fiddling, checking to see if I could toggle each independently of each other. Now, Autoplay will not work on the phone, no matter what. This persisted even after restarting the phone. Its behaviour is correct on PC.

For my purposes this is fine (I do not like Autoplay) so I'm not going to continue investigating, but I imagine this might be an issue for others, so I thought I'd post the (sort of) fix and ongoing issue anyway.

This issue persists across all devices and support has been completely unhelpful. I have tried reinstalling and logging out and back in. Nothing changes. Autoplay is off, on my PC and Android. I dont have a option to toggle smart shuffle(or whatever its called. the support guy mentioned it). I usually listen to a full album and want the music to end when the album is over. Throughout the whole album there is nothing in my queue except for the album. Then when the last song is finished it says Next from: (Album name here) and populates the queue with a ton of songs I never selected.

I dont care what this process is called. I dont know if its autoplay, smart shuffle, or some other "feature" mentioned by support. I just want it to stop. Someone please describe to me the process to make this app play only what I select. Please. Why is it so hard to get this app to do something as simple as play the music I select from a list? Like seriously... Does anyone have a fix? I've spent a collective three hours with support. I have gotten nowhere. This makes the app unusable for falling asleep(which is the main reason I am paying for this service. I'm completely relaxed, almost asleep, then some loud, high energy thing starts up that I didn't select to listen too.

Any help is appreciated.

I think autoplay is not disabled because it is clearly toggled off on both my app and the desktop player and spotify still plays random **bleep** (related to the album listened to) when the album ends. I cant find anything else in the settings on by the play and pause options that could turn this annoying "feature" off so I can only assume its the autoplay setting malfunctioning.

Through the entirety of the album only the album shows up in the queue. However, the instant the last song is finished my queue is populated with around twenty or so songs I did not place there. This is what happens every time. Please tell me this is something besides autoplay causing this so I can disable it. I completely hate this.

EDIT. it looks like my post got added here. I still need help. I've already completely reinstalled Spotify with support's help multiple times. including deleting all data relevant to the app. Will you please assist me in this problem since support was unable to.

Besides the app I use the web browser player. The web browser player doesn't have an option to disable the accursed autoplay. I rarely use that player but could that be causing my android app player to autoplay even though it is clearly toggled off?

Hey folks,

Does the issue occur only with Spotify Connect when you're listening to an external speaker, or does it also persist when listening locally on your phone? I'd recommend logging out everywhere via your account page, as it's possible that the app has cached the Autoplay settings from another device you previously had used.

Let us know how it goes.

I've logged out everywhere. Autoplay is off on all devices but it's still "playing recommended songs for you" at the end of the album. This is horrible and it's even more frustrating because it's being displayed like it's doing me a favor. Fix this now. Everything is on a clean install. Let me know what to do next but this is clearly a problem on your end and not mine. I'm paying for control of what I listen too. If I wanted the doors to play at the end of dark side of the moon I'd select it.

On an unrelated note, how do I stop getting emails from Spotify in Spanish? I had someone try to reset my password in South America and ever since then all my emails are illegible.

What is Spotify connect? Is that just a fancy phrase for listening from a Bluetooth speaker. Is there a glossary of terms somewhere. Whatever. Just fix the issue. Please

There are songs that I have not downloaded, being played on my play playlist. This just started happening and it is very annoying. Can you address this issue , please?
